Our story

Parkside Acres began with a vision from our Oupa, Michiel.

What started as a dream became an opportunity for our family to build something meaningful together—a place where generations could work side by side, create new memories, and share the simple joys of farm life with others.

Today, Parkside Acres is truly a family effort. The Barnard family, along with extended family and friends, all play a part in bringing this place to life. From planting and weeding to serving coffee, welcoming guests, and caring for the land, there is always a helping hand nearby.

The grandchildren are growing up alongside one another on the farm, learning the value of hard work and teamwork. You'll find them helping in the fields, tending flowers, serving treats from Blink Stefaan, our Airstream café, and eagerly waiting for their next turn on the tractor.

The bear on our crest honours the Barnard family name and the journey that brought us here. With roots in South Africa and a new chapter in Canada, we've carried forward the values that shaped our family: hard work, resilience, hospitality, and the belief that the best things in life are built together.

We're creating more than a farm. We're building a place where families can gather, slow down, and reconnect. A place filled with pumpkin patches, sunflower fields, tulip blooms, future orchards, fresh coffee from Manchester Coffee Co., sweet treats, and experiences that bring people together.

As we continue planting for the future—including tulips, fruit trees, and new seasonal experiences for 2027 and beyond—we remain guided by the vision that started it all: creating a place where people feel welcome, connected, and at home.

Every flower planted, every tree grown, every cup of coffee served, and every smile shared is part of a story being written by many hands and many generations.

Because at the end of the day, Parkside Acres isn't just about farming.

It's about family, working together, making memories, and creating a place where others can do the same.
